MASS OF SHUB-NIGGURATH

Application:

The intention of this working is to steer an unproductive course of events toward a productive end, and to generally bring about a fecundity of any given idea or project.

Timing:

Best performed at the dark of the moon, and then in a place where privacy is assured, and life in abundance. It may also be used at the outset of any project.

The Egregore:

Shub-Niggurath may appear to the participant under a variety of guises, including (but not limited to):

- A human-like female with jet black skin, and ram's horns growing from the head
- An octopoid creature with arms ending in crustacean claws
- A black goat surrounded by a multitude of half-formed attendants
- A formless protoplasmic pool tentatively putting forth various organic constructs that soon collapse back into the mass.

This entity is very definitely of a sexual nature; while under the influence of the invocation, participants are likely to experience overwhelming sexual urges. Furthermore, after-effects of successful contact are like-ly to include a period of sexually-oriented dreams. A strong banishing afterward is suggested if such dreaming is not desired.

The Rite:

-3. All participants disrobe.

-2. A banishing is performed.

-1. Statement of intent is recited aloud, and shouted if practical.

0. The Shub-Niggurath Pantacle is drawn on an absorbent material, such as paper or sponge.

1. Concentrate all attention upon the Pantacle and repeat the statement of intent fourteen times.

2. Continue to concentrate upon the Pantacle until it can be completely visualized with the outer eyes closed.

3. Begin an attempt to produce sexual elixir.

4. Recite the Prayer of the Black Goat:

Io Shub-Niggurath!
Black Goat of the Wood with a Thousand Young!
With my tongue I call to you, with my mouth I beckon,
These I offer to your service - come forth!

Io Shub-Niggurath!
Black Goat of the Wood with a Thousand Young!
With my hands I summon you, with my touch I tempt,
These I offer to your service - come forth!

Io Shub-Niggurath!
Black Goat of the Wood with a Thousand Young!
With my (penis/vagina/whatever) I summon you,
with my (whatever) I entreat,
These I offer to your service - come forth!

Io Shub-Niggurath!
Black Goat of the Wood with a Thousand Young!
Take up the offering, the seed for the Child;
Carry it within you to the place of laying-in-wait.
When the moon is full, bring the Child to me.

(at the moment the elixir is produced ONLY, recite:)

Behold! The Beginning has appeared!
The Seed is planted in the Black Mother's fertile womb!

5. The elixir is delivered onto the Pantacle, or the Pantacle is annointed with it.

6. Take the Pantacle and place it in an earthenware bowl, which is also filled with a solution of sugar in water. Shut the bowl up in a dark, temperate place.

7. Banish. The bowl should not be disturbed or looked until the next full moon.

8. At the next full moon, retrieve the bowl. If the Mass has been successful, a mold will be found growing upon it. Use this mold as a sacrament by burning it as an incense. The Pantacle should be kept as a talisman for fertility and fecundity, both of ideas and physicalities.

Notes:

During the pantacles incubation, no further Masses of Shub-Niggurath should be performed. The sacrament produced can be used whenever the initial effects of this Mass need to be bolstered.
